This Privacy Policy tells you how your personal information is stored or used when you purchase an artwork and visit the website.

1. WWW.GOODTHINGSHAPPENTOBADPEOPLE.COM is an independent website currently managed by 1 person, with up to three people working in non-website roles connected to the business.

This website may include links to third-party websites, plug-ins and applications. Clicking on those links or enabling those connections may allow third parties to collect or share data about you. We do not control these third-party websites and are not responsible for their privacy statements. When you leave our website, we encourage you to read the privacy policy of every website you visit.

Personal data, or personal information, means any information about an individual from which that person can be identified. It does not include data where the identity has been removed (anonymous data).

It may be necessary to collect, use, store and transfer different kinds of personal data about you in order to provide a smooth service, or for statutory requirements. This is always password protected, with limited access. Third party service providers are used for financial transactions, as well as to run the website, and in these cases some data may be stored by them in encrypted and password protected areas. At the moment these include Stripe, Google, Paypal and Wix. Types of personal data that the website might come across are as follows:

  • Identity Data includes first name, last name, title, date of birth.

  • Contact Data includes billing address, delivery address, email address and telephone number.

  • Financial Data. Currently the shop function uses Stripe, Paypal and Wix Stores for checkout, so we do not store, process or come in to contact with your card details ourselves.

  • Transaction Data includes details about payments to and from you and other details of products and services you have purchased from us. We may keep transaction data for up to 7 years due to legal requirements for accounting, after which time it will be destroyed.

  • Technical Data includes internet protocol (IP) address, your login data, browser type and version, time zone setting and location, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system and platform and other technology on the devices you use to access this website. While this site does not actively collect this data, the third parties might do.

  • Messaging Data includes messages sent to or received from entrants, buyers and the proprietor or staff of the website.

  • Marketing and Communications Data includes your preferences in receiving marketing from and our third parties and your communication preferences. You may opt out of this by contacting us.

At the moment we do not collect or use Aggregated Data such as statistical or demographic data for any purpose but third parties might do this.

We do not ordinarily collect any Special Categories of Personal Data about you (this includes details about your race or ethnicity, religious or philosophical beliefs, sex life, sexual orientation, political opinions, trade union membership, information about your health and genetic and biometric data). Nor do we collect any information about criminal convictions and offences.

Personal data is collected through direct interaction with you. For example, the delivery address you enter when making a purchase, or the email you enter in to the mailing list form. Website interaction or anything else that you do while you are on our site is not monitored by the site, and data from this is not collected by us.

We also collect and share data as described below:

  • Cloud storage providers – our current website provider has cloud computing storage that securely stores all of our data.

  • Email service providers - in order to send you marketing content and transactional emails, we share your details with our email service providers.

  • Analytics and Profiling Tools - we currently aren’t using any analytics or profiling tools to track how users use our website.

  • We do not conduct any online behavioural tracking.

We may send you marketing emails to make you aware of upcoming events. If you would like to opt out of these please email.

We do not give your data to anyone for third party marketing purposes.

Appropriate security measures have been put in place to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorised way, altered or disclosed. In addition, access to your personal data is limited to those who have a business need to know.

Procedures have been put in place to deal with any suspected personal data breach and will notify you and any applicable regulator of a breach where we are legally required to do so.

You acknowledge that the Internet is not a completely secure medium for communication and, accordingly, we cannot guarantee the security of any information you send to us (or we send to you) via the Internet. We are not responsible for any damages which you, or others, may suffer as a result of the loss of confidentiality of such information.

To request a return, please contact us. Goods must arrive back in exactly the same new condition that they were sent.

Shipping costs will not be refunded unless an item is faulty.

Most print on demand products are made especially for you so cannot be refunded or exchanged unless a faulty item has been supplied. Unlike many large brands who send all returns to landfill as this is cheaper than processing them back into stock, we only print in very small quantities or with print on demand items to minimise wastage both for the business and also for the environment.
